Meet our STO



STO Chair-Mount Carmel Academy, Troupe 2075

Jessie Duplantis is in the Class of 2020 at Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans. She's been doing theatre all of her life, her most recent show being Annie! She also directed the chapter select one-act from State Thespian Festival 2019, Look Me In The Eye by Lindsey Price. She is so excited to be serving on your STO board and can't wait for everything this festival will bring!!



Head STO-Mandeville H.S., Troupe 1510of Sales

Ella has been in the St. Tammany Talented Theatre for 11 years. She was last seen in Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread and Cinderella. She is currently the thespian representative in the MHS Drama Club. She is thrilled to be an STO this year. She can’t wait to get working on the next state festival with her fellow STO.


STO- Dutchtown HS, Troupe 7343

Maddie Adams is a junior at Dutchtown High School in Ascension Parish. She has been involved in the arts since she was 4, and plans on continuing. She has held a position on the Thespian Board in her school’s Troupe since her freshman year. She is a cast member in almost every show, compete regularly, and is in the Talented and Gifted Theatre Program. Her love of theatre has no end!



STO- Kaplan H.S., Troupe 6981

Mallorie Monceaux is a current student at Kaplan High School in Kaplan, Louisiana. She has been in three musicals at her high school and several other one-act plays and performances. She also competes with her school speech team at Louisiana rally and various speech tournaments and is the speech team president at her high school. She also has attended the Louisiana Thespian Festival for the past three years and has performed with her school there for the past two. Most importantly, however, she is beyond excited to be able to serve as a 2019-2020 Louisiana State Thespian Officer! 



STO Co-Chair- Live Oak H.S., Troupe 5882

Abigail Whitam is in the 11th grade at Live Oak High School, located in Watson, Louisiana. She started her theatre journey during 8th grade year in her schools Talented Theatre program. Since then, she have been in performances such as Frankenstein, The Dark Road, Nooses Off and many more. Aside from participating in my schools theatre, she has performed with Central Community Theatre in The Little Mermaid Jr. and Seussical Jr., as well as The Nutcracker with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre. She is super excited to deepen her love for theatre by being STO Co- Chair for Louisiana!!



STO- LSMSA Troupe 7745

Sydney Sorbet is a Junior at Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts who is originally from Covington, Louisiana. She has been doing theatre since the fourth grade and loves both performing in and teching shows. She is currently working on the role of Eve in The Apple Tree.


STO- Caddo Magnet H.S.,Troupe 3594

Jackson Holoubek is a sophomore, and a dedicated thespian at Caddo Magnet High School. He grew up in New Hampshire, but moved down here in mid-elementary school. He always liked doing impressions on the side, and got his first taste of the stage doing children’s theatre at Norton Art Gallery. It wasn’t until he went to Magnet and started doing shows with the school’s admirable drama director, Patricia Reeves, that he was bitten by the theatre bug and began to do legitimate, main-stage shows. Starting in the ensemble from Guys and Dolls, he worked his way up to a principal role, playing Percival Browne in The Boy Friend, and is looking forward to exciting, new roles yet to come.



STO- Slidell High, Troupe 775

Tatum Burkett is from Slidell High School, troupe 775! She has been in talented theatre since 2nd grade, but has been acting in plays since she was about five at her church. Theatre allows her to express her true self and has helped her to meet so many friends, including her bestie, Madi. Without theatre she wouldn’t be the person she is today, She's so excited to be one of the new STOs!!

Become a STO


1. Attend ALL State Board Meetings with the Adult Board and Chapter Director. Meetings are held in October (Lafayette), April (Lake Charles) and at the Festival. Travel & Food expenses must be incurred by the individual student. Louisiana Thespians does not pay expenses.

2. Assist with the design of the State Festival theme, logo and t-shirt.

3. Assist with the planning of the State Festival.

4. Attend and take an active role in conducting the State Festival.

5. Conduct the Leadership Seminar at State Festival. The Seminar is designed and led by the State Thespian Chair and the International Thespian Rep.

6. Coordinate other theatre activities for State Thespians to attend.

7. Communicate with the Festival Chairperson and Chapter Director.

8. Be a role model for other Louisiana Thespians. 9. Promote ITS/Louisiana Thespians and the ideas for which it stands.



Each troupe may nominate one candidate for election of the State Thespian Officers. In order to be a candidate for the State Thespian Officers, a student must meet the following qualifications: ​

1. Be in his/her sophomore or junior year in high school.

2. Be registered with EdTA as a Thespian in good standing with Louisiana Thespians

3. Be an active member and in good standing with their troupe.

4. Be able to attend both State Board Meetings.

5. Have transportation to both State Board Meetings.

6. Must attend the State Festival and Leadership Seminar.

7. Parents, Chapter Director & Principal must sign the Candidate Permission Form.

8. Complete the Student Board Information Form.

9. Prepare a typed 200 word essay briefly describing the candidate's theatre background and reasons the candidate would like to serve on the Student Board.

10. If any required information is not received by the deadline, the student will be disqualified. 



1. Elections will be held at the State Festival during the Leadership Seminar.

2. Each Candidate must give a prepared one to two minute speech at the Leadership Seminar giving their background information and explaining why he/she would like to serve as a State Thespian Officer.

3. Each active troupe voting is given 1 vote to select 7 State Thespian Officers.

4. A State Thespian Officer Chairperson is elected each year, with the exception of a Chairperson who served the previous year as Chairperson, would continue as Chairperson for the new term.

5. The past State Thespian Officers will vote for a Chairperson from the newly elected State Thespian Officers.

6. The State Thespian Officer receiving the 2nd largest number of votes from the past State Thespian Officers will be declared Co-Chairperson. Co-Chairpersons do not proceed to Chairperson automatically the following year.

7. All members of the newly elected Thespian Officers must attend the Adult Board meeting at the Festival held on Saturday.

8. Due to campus restrictions, no posters for campaigning will be allowed.

9. Newly elected State Thespian Officers must attend the State Board meeting at the Festival on Saturday.



Terms for newly elected members of the State Thespian Officers begin on the Monday following the State Festival and last exactly one year.



Any State Thespian Officer who fails to attend State Board meetings or uphold the listed Duties of the STO will result in removal from the State Thespian Officers by the Festival Chair or Chapter Director.
